Advance Practice Provider
Rocky Boy Health Center (RBHC) is seeking a compassionate and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The APP will provide comprehensive primary and preventive healthcare services to patients of all ages in a rural tribal health setting while supporting RBHC’s mission to educate and empower our relatives to live well.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for patients
- Order and interpret labs, diagnostic testing, and imaging
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans
- Promote preventative care and patient education
- Collaborate with providers, nursing, pharmacy, behavioral health, and support staff
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record documentation
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program or graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current unrestricted Montana license as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) or ability to obtain Montana license within 90 days of hire.
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
- Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or a dual discipline (e.g., Med-Peds).
- Experience working in tribal health, IHS, rural health, or underserved communities.
- Experience working in urgent care or emergency care settings.
- Advanced training or experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or stabilization of critically ill patients in low-resource settings.
- Experience with integrated behavioral health models, medication-assisted treatment, chronic disease management, or population health initiatives.
- Prior leadership experience such as precepting, quality improvement work, or participation in clinical committees.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, culturally responsive care, and strengths-based communication approaches.
- Ability to adapt care strategies to resource-limited environments and high-acuity situations.
